Tell the El Rancho School Board to keep its promise!
Unfortunately, at the September 4th, 2018 board meeting, the ERUSD School Board on a 3-2 vote gave direction to the Superintendent to stop the scheduled ground breaking and construction set to begin in October 2018. Instead, they are considering merely “modernizing” existing buildings. This is code word for paint, carpet with new tables and chairs.
Changing plans now is throwing away the past two years of design programming, input of hundreds of Pico Rivera residents, the hundreds of thousands of dollars in architectural and millions in escalation cost. Politics should not get in the way of building what our children deserve and what our community voted for.
We believe that our children deserve better. When we invest in our children, our whole community benefits. El Rancho High School is the center of our community and it is falling apart. Putting a halt to construction this late in the planning phase means hundreds of thousands of taxpayers dollars going to waste.
We, the undersigned, demand the El Rancho Unified School Board move forward with the reconstruction of El Rancho High School Now!
